Grand Cayman

A lonely tree's roots struggle to support life.

Delicate flowers somehow withstand the withering heat.

Grasses wave beneath clear shallow water.

Yellow tube sponges live on the coral reef.

A fish shelters in coral, while a purple fan coral waves gently in the current at 70'.

Vibrant reef color at 75'.

Bowls of many colors sit atop the reef at 50', guarded by purple fan coral.

So much color on the reef at 80'.

Diving feels like floating in space, surrounded by muted sounds, immersed in peace.

USS Kittiwake, launched in 1945, a 251' submarine rescue boat, now sitting on the reef in 80' of water.  Looking up through the ship's interior through a maze of steel and darkness.
