Mallorca.

Calla Pi, on the south side of Mallorca, is a beautiful, peaceful spot, featuring a lighthouse and a small beach, and very heavy winds.

Calla Lombard.  After a long and twisty drive and several wrong turns, we were rewarded with this beautiful view as we descended a steep footpath.

Calla Lombard.  The green doors are boat houses which shelter fishing boats, while the houses perched on top enjoy a wonderful view of the bay.

The bay of Calla Pi is sheltered by cliffs on both sides, and features a narrow beach tucked out of sight.

Mallorca.  El Tren de Soller is a narrow-gauge railway which connects Palma to Soller, winding through mountains, lemon groves, and through thirteen tunnels.  Its open windows create a lovely breeze, and the  opportunity to hang out the window for photographs like this one.

Parque del Buen Retiro is 350 acres of beauty in the middle of Madrid, featuring a small lake, cafes, an art museum, and this monument to  Alfonso XII, the King of Spain from 1886 - 1931.

Prado National Museum houses many of the great works of Spanish artists including Goya, Velazquez, El Gregco, and Raphael.  The works were collected by Spanish royalty, most notably Queen Isabel.
